Alumni Q-Club

Mission Statement

To support and promote the athletic tradition of Queen's University. The intention of the Q Club is not to supercede current booster club activities. Rather the Q Club should be viewed as the vehicle by which Booster Club activities may be enhanced and at the same time provide recognition of our fine athletic tradition.

Purpose

The Q Club was created in order to provide all former varsity letter winners an opportunity to continue their support of Queen's athletics and to promote the tradition of excellence at Queen's.

Membership

The Q Club is intended to consist of all former varsity athletes, coaches and other Queen's athletic program supporters. The strengths of the organization will remain in its exclusivity and size.

Mandate

To Provide Support to Existing Booster Clubs

The goal is to provide assistance with booster club events through volunteer support, clerical work and publicity. In essence, the Q Club is designed to coordinate athletic fundraising so as to prevent repetitious asks for donations.

To Provide Support for Program Enhancement Through Q-Club Events

The objectives of the Q Club are:

  • Recognize all members with a Queen's Athletic Hall of Fame, target date Year 2003
  • Publish two newsletters per year which will be sent to all members of the Q Club. The newsletters will be inserted in the Alumni Review.

To Educate New Members

The Q Club will host a graduating student-athlete banquet recognizing the accomplishments of new graduating athletes. Graduates will be provided with information on the club and given a symbol (pin) of their automatic membership.

To Offer Program Incentives

It is the intention of the Q Club to encourage membership with an incentives plan in conjunction with corporate sponsors. Alumni donations also benefit from a tax exemption and will be sent a tax receipt to acknowledge their generosity.
