Policy on Posters/Notices

  1. This policy pertains to public bulletin boards in the Physical Education Centre and the Jock Harty Arena. These boards are specifically identified as General Notice areas.
  2. Notices are to be posted only on designated "General Notice" boards and must have an expiry date bearing the approval stamp of the Physical Education Centre. Commercial or other general notices are not to be posted on specified School of P.H.E. or Athletic/Recreation notice boards.
  3. Access to the designated bulletin boards is restricted to:

    Departments of Queen's University, faculty and staff associations and student societies and clubs;

    Non-profit community organizations; and

    Other groups at the discretion of the Manager Facilities and Services.
  4. Posters, flyers or handouts which advertise events involving the consumption of alcohol or the use of tobacco will not be permitted within the building(s).
  5. No notices are to be placed directly on the walls, doors, trophy cases, pillars of the Physical Education Centre. Specific program notices can be posted in approved portable locations in the hallways of the Centre.
  6. A maximum of two notices per source per bulletin board (space permitting) may be posted. No notice may be posted over another. Only standard staples or tacks may be used to affix items to General Notice boards in the corridors of the buildings. Thumb tacks or pins are not allowed for safety reasons within the locker room areas.
  7. All notices to be posted should be date stamped and approved by the main Administration Office. Notices will be permitted to be posted for a maximum of a two week period.
  8. Any notices/posters deemed to be not in "good taste" will be removed from any and all bulletin boards.
  9. Any notice posted in contravention of this policy will be removed.
