Coaches Information - Overview
"It is the policy of Queen's University Athletics that the coaches of its Interuniversity teams conduct themselves in a manner that brings respect and honour to the University. Queen's coaches shall have demonstrable norms of expertise and conduct as established by the rules of its Governing Authorities, (CIS, OUA), the Coaching Association of Canada and the Guidelines on Conduct for Queen's coaches. These coaching norms are based on an understanding and appreciation of the important role of coaches as influential educators. They require respect for the rules, for a coach's own athletes, for those athletes of coaching colleagues and for the colleagues themselves. They acknowledge a desire for the success of all athletes and coaches participating within the rules. They recognize that a coach's leadership role in the sport is a privilege which cannot be enjoyed if the inherent responsibilities are not accepted and discharged. This is an unequivocal position statement that Queen's University considers as basic and fundamental to those assigned and appointed as coaches, assistant coaches or other designated team personnel.

Behaviour among student athletes must reflect the spirit of the rules; the integrity of the opponent, and respect for game officials and sport administration.
The focus should be in honesty and principled behaviour rather than random action.
