Working and Getting Paid

How to Get Work:

  1. Attend the clinics for your sport(s)
  2. Read and sign the Officials Agreement form
  3. Sign up for games as per policy
  4. Note: you MAY NOT sign up for games for your own faculty unit (i.e., Arts ’07).
  5. Show up for your shift. If you fail to show twice, you are fired.

Payment and Certification Levels

Officials must submit an employee information form each year, as well as a signed copy of the Intramural Officials Agreement form.
If Queen’s University has never paid them before, they must also submit a voided cheque for direct deposit.

Level 1: New to the program (never reffed for Queen's Intramurals before) & no valid association certification

Level 2: New to the program, but with valid association certification or veteran in the program, without valid association certification

Level 3: Veteran in the program with valid association certification. To obtain the increased rate due to certification, certification must be no more than 2 seasons old (obtained 2 calendar years prior to the start of the current Intramural season.

Basic Pay Rates apply to: Ball Hockey, Broomball, Innertube Waterpolo, Indoor Soccer, Touch Football.

BEWIC Sports Days officials will be paid a flat rate of $8.00 per game.

Tournament game fees may be adjusted to reflect shorter gametimes.

NEW THIS YEAR
Basketball and Outdoor Soccer officials will receive $15/game if they hold current-year certification. They will receive the basic pay rates if they do not.
