Season Summary
Shannon Mullins, who placed second at the OUA Championships in the women’s 55 kg weight event, had our best result this season. She narrowly lost a very close and tough battle in the gold medal final, and was recognized as an OUA All-Star for her outstanding effort. At the national Championships, Shannon put in a great effort and placed 6th. On the men’s team, Eric Bertrand, a first year wrestler in the130 kg weight category, led the men’s team to a respectable solid finish at the OUA Championships. With several strong performances at the OUA Championships, the team standings remained the same, while almost doubling team points from last year. Next year, the team hopes to see a return of our men standing on the podium at the OUA's. The Gaels have a good core of athletes returning next year who are committed to reaching that goal.
