Curling (M/W): Gaels Qualify For OUA Finals
Perterborough, Ont. (February 4, 2008) Both Queen's curling teams clinched berths in the conference championships after a successful weekend in Peterborough at Trent University. The men's team went 3-1 losing their opening game to Western but bouncing back to defeat Brock, Waterloo and Windsor. The ladies dropped their first two games to Western and on the final shot to Waterloo but then took a last rock victory over Windsor and played their strongest game of the weekend in a 7-1 win over Brock.
The women finish 4-3 and in third place while the men are also in third with a 5-2 record. The Gaels will now prepare for the OUA Finals February 16th and 17th at the University of Western.
Men's Curling Advances To OUA Finals
Kingston, ON (February 5, 2007) - The Queen's Golden Gaels men's and women's curling teams had mixed results at the OUA Crossover in Kingston on the weekend. The men finished the weekend 2-2 defeating Waterloo 8-4 and Windsor 9-4, and losing to Western 7-6 and Brock 9-7. Overall the Gaels are 4-3 and qualify for the OUA Finals in Waterloo as the third seed. The women's team was not as fortunate despite going 3-1 on the weekend they finished 4-3 and tied with Laurier and Waterloo for the last two playoff berths but after two tiebreakers finish out of the OUA Finals. On the weekend the ladies beat Western 11-4, Waterloo 10-2, and Windsor 11-6 with the lone loss to Brock 9-8 in the final draw. The OUA Finals are February 17th and 18th in Waterloo.

Curling Wins 3 Games At East Sectional
Waterloo, ON (January 21, 2007) - The Queen's Golden Gaels men's curling team opened their season with a 2-1 record at the East Sectional at Laurier University this weekend. The Gaels beat Trent in the first draw 8-2 and Toronto in draw two 10-2 before losing to the defending champion Laurier Golden Hawks 9-3 in the third draw. As for the women's team they lost their first draw 8-7 to Trent, won the second draw easily 9-1 over Toronto before losing the final draw 9-3 to Laurier. Both Queen's teams return to action on February 3rd and 4th when they host the OUA East/West Crossover. It is the final league play before the league championships in Waterloo February 17th and 18th.
