Arthur Martin

Action Photographs

A familiar face on the football field and on the court, Arthur Martin has been involved with the Queen's Football team as a photographer since 1978. The list of Arthur's photographic accomplishments with both amateur and professional sports is impressive. He was the official photographer for the CFL (Canadian Football League) from 1985 to 1993 doing eight Grey Cups and has been a team photographer for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 1994 to the present.

At the university level, Martin has been a photographer for the Western Mustangs football team, doing their program and team picture since the early 1980's and the official photographer for McMaster Athletics from 1997 to the present. In 2004, he was recognized with the "Friend of Distinction Award" by McMaster University for his services to athletics at McMaster. Martin has been the official photographer for several Vanier Cups.

As a photographer for Queen's Golden Gaels, Martin has captured the excitement of championship wins and the agony of defeat for many Queen's games and both Vanier Cups under the coaching of Doug Hargreaves. For his contributions to the Queen's Football program, Art was inducted into the Queen's University Football Hall of Fame.

Martin's skill in sport action photography gave him the opportunity to be official photographer at the first World University Hockey Championship hosted in Detroit in 1998. He was also the official photographer for the University of Western Ontario football trip to Japan in 1997. He has been the official photographer for the Norfolk Pros NHL Charity Golf tournament for many years and is also the official photographer for the Norfolk Sports Hall of Recognition.
